origami fun

I’ve been looking at a lot of origami stuff (again) recently, mostly as a way to get un-stuck, but also for the flexibility that some origami shapes have. I found 1 really varied site, with lots of kinds of origami, and links to even more coolness. That link is http://cedison.wordpress.com/

Secondarily, there is one particular pattern that folds up interestingly (the site I found it on wasn’t the actual source, and didn’t cite the original or link back to it, but here’s the pic.

I actually made an illustrator file of the fold pattern if anyone is interested (just ask me), but here’s the pdf.

NOTE: solid lines are ‘mountain’ folds, dotted lines are ‘valley’ folds

Parody Time

Weird Al Yankovic: Architect

Just thought I’d share a funny, not really related, comic while we all work like crazy for the next deadline.\

Lucept–luminous concepts from arround the world

So, this isn’t specifically related to our current attempts to understand museums, museum annexes, and relationships with site, but seeing as Kai has declared this semester’s theme to be light I thought I’d share this.

The whole blog is (surprise) dedicated to light. What I light most about it though, is that it doesn’t limit itself to dealing with light in only one way, but looks at it architecturally, sculpturally, and even highlights technological aspects of working with light, such as the most recent post about OLEDs.

best. tree house. ever.

It’s not so much directly relevant to the stuff we’re working on right now, but I thought the organic-y shape of the overall structure was really cool, and wanted to share.

I found this over at SpaceInvading (also at ArchDaily though). It’s not really a tree house, but is largely up off the ground among the trees, and largely for kids.
